Orange and white abstract arrow and X design on a dark blue background, no text, minimalist and modern style.

Nexamp has announced it has secured USD 330 million to finance, construct, and manage a portfolio of approximately 20 new distributed solar and energy storage projects in the U.S. This capital comes via a three-year construction warehouse facility, led by MUFG ($200 million), ING ($100 million), and Siemens Financial Services ($30 million), with U.S. Bank acting as collateral agent. The move builds on a prior USD 350 million debt facility from Macquarie to support more than 1 GW of renewable developments.

Newsom vetoes another bill to curb California’s rising energy demand

California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed Assembly Bill 740, which would have required a strategic deployment plan for virtual power plants (VPPs) combining rooftop solar, batteries, and other distributed energy resources. He argued the bill conflicted with the existing Resource Adequacy framework and would worsen the California Energy Commission’s budget deficit. The veto follows a similar decision regarding AB 44, and represents a setback for advocates who argued VPPs could deliver substantial cost savings and resilience benefits.
