NineDot Energy Commissions 20MW Battery Storage Project in the Bronx

Blue logo on dark navy background: an open diamond outline with clustered white dots inside, no text.

NineDot Energy has commissioned its 20MW Hunts Point battery energy storage system in the Bronx, New York. The project is designed to provide power to nearly 20,000 homes during peak grid periods and support reliability in an area historically affected by fossil-fuel emissions.

The Tesla battery system replaces a former fuel-oil trucking site and is intended to support New York City’s transition toward a more electrified grid. During the July 2026 heat wave, NineDot’s existing battery projects supplied nearly 34MW during peak periods. The company aims to have 400MW of storage operating, under construction or in development by year-end.

TOYO Secures $240 Million in U.S. Solar Module Supply Contracts

The company is developing projects across multiple European markets as it grows its renewable generation pipeline.

Germany Sets New Solar Generation Record Ahead of Year-End

Germany’s solar power generation has already exceeded its entire 2025 output, reaching 90.2 TWh by September 27, 2026, compared with 90.0 TWh generated throughout 2025, according to Fraunhofer ISE’s Energy-Charts data.

The milestone reflects continued growth in Germany’s photovoltaic capacity, supported by new rooftop and ground-mounted installations, as well as favorable solar conditions during 2026. The German Solar Industry Association marked September 27 as “Solar Day” to highlight the achievement. The record comes as Germany reviews changes to renewable-energy support, with industry groups emphasizing the importance of stable investment conditions for continued solar expansion.
