USA News Energy Vault’s 300 MWh Texas Battery

Energy Vault has purchased a 150 MW / 300 MWh grid-scale battery storage system in Madison County, Texas, called the SOSA Energy Center. The project, using its third-generation B-VAULT system, is expected to begin construction by Q4 2025 and achieve commercial operation by Q1 2027. Energy Vault aims to leverage tax incentives and projects around US$350 million in total revenue from an 8-year offtake agreement.
Vesper Solar’s 600 MW Agrivoltaics Project in Texas

Vesper Energy’s 600 MW Hornet Solar project in Texas demonstrates an agrivoltaic approach by integrating sheep grazing and pollinator-friendly vegetation among its 1.36 million bifacial solar panels.
Spanning roughly 3,800 acres, the site supports more than 2,500 sheep and is overseen by herding dogs, revealing how solar infrastructure and agricultural activities can coexist. The company emphasizes early community engagement and environmental responsibility to secure and develop prime renewable project sites.
ContourGlobal’s US Solar Financing

KKR-backed ContourGlobal has secured over US$350 million in financing for a large solar project in the United States. The capital comes via a mix of tax-equity investment and debt financing arranged by global banks. The project, called Black Hollow Sun, is expected to reach a peak capacity of 324 MW upon completion of its second phase by the end of 2026.
685 MW Utah Solar Project to Power Meta Greenbacker Capital and rPlus Energies have built a 685 MW (or ~104 MWdc / 80 MWac) solar project in Utah, which will supply renewable energy to a nearby Meta data center. The facility, operating under a long-term power purchase agreement with PacifiCorp, supports Meta’s commitment to run its operations on clean energy, while also bringing investment into local communities.
2 MW Solar Project Completed in Pennsylvania

Coral Reef Partners has completed a 1.94 MW ground-mounted solar installation at D&H Distributing’s headquarters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Spanning about five acres with nearly 3,900 modules, this community-scale system is designed to offset a significant portion of D&H’s energy consumption. The project underscores the growing role of solar in supporting corporate sustainability and regional energy resilience.

RWE Builds 700 MWh Battery at Former Gundremmingen Nuclear Site

RWE has broken ground on Germany’s largest battery storage project, installing a 400 MW / 700 MWh facility at the former Gundremmingen nuclear power plant site . The company plans to use over 850,000 lithium-iron-phosphate battery cells housed in more than 200 containers, supported by fast inverters to deliver or absorb power in milliseconds. The investment is roughly €230 million, and the system is expected to begin commercial operations in early 2028.
EWS celebrates 30 years of driving the energy transition The Elektrizitätswerke Schönau (EWS), known as the “Strom-rebels” from the Black Forest, mark 30 years of commitment to cooperative, renewable energy. Their anniversary underlines not only the company’s grassroots beginnings — formed after Chernobyl — but also a hopeful outlook toward future societal and climate transformation. With civic engagement at its core, EWS continues to emphasize solidarity, sustainability, and the power of community-led action in shaping a more livable world.
Voltara secures 50 MW production capacity for 500 W back-contact modules

Voltara has signed an exclusive deal with Sonnenstromfabrik to reserve 50 MW of production capacity for its high-efficiency 500 W back-contact solar modules.
These modules achieve up to 24.47% efficiency, thanks to their rear-side cell interconnection that avoids shading. The agreement ensures Voltara’s installation partners early access to this cutting-edge German technology, improving both supply reliability and innovation in European residential solar solutions.
380 kW PV System for Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence

A 380 kW rooftop solar plant is being installed on a heritage-protected building of the German Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin. Around 900 terracotta-colored modules from Futurasun will be used to match the building’s architectural style. The system, built by Vodasun with SMA inverters, is expected to go online in November 2025.
Police Searching for Owner of 26 Pallets of PV Modules
Police in Ludwigsburg / Böblingen have recovered 26 pallets of Hanersun photovoltaic modules and are seeking their rightful owner. The panels, possibly stolen, were found on 14 May 2025 and include bifacial modules rated at 445 W. Owners have until 5 December 2025 to come forward, or the panels may be disposed of or auctioned.
